Hummus

Post by abbi » Thu Mar 31, 2011 8:21 pm

Anyone that likes hummus will love this recipe. I had it tonight at a local recipe and the chef gave me the recipe.

4 15oz cans Garbanzo Beans, drained, liquid reserved
1 Clove Garlic, Minced
2T Lemon Juice
2T Tahini Paste (sesame paste)
3T Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
(He used 2ts Salt and 1/2ts Pepper

Blend all ingredients in food processor until smooth. Add reserved liquid 1T at a time if too thick.

It was delicious. I'm going to make it and add some jalapeno pepper to it.

I make hummus too but I only use 1 can of beans and a half a cup of tahini.

Hummus is delicious. This looks like an easy recipe. Have you tried falafel? I have been wanting to try that. I figure if I like hummus I would like falafel.

Good falafel is like good extra-lean ground beef with spices. Delicious!

Might want to cut the ingredients in half. I think that will make a LOT of hummus. Sounds great!

My husband made dinner once that included an appetizer of flatbread (naan) with hummus topped with a thin slice of cucumber. Good stuff.

Naan is good stuff. I order garlic naan every time I get Indian food.

We went to an Indian place not far from me, I can't tell you what I ate - it was hot, good, and a mystery but the NAAN - wow, they kept bringing it out hot out of the oven! :dinner:

I always get Chicken Tikka Masala w/some kind of white rice. All I know is that it is delicious and I use the naan for dipping into the sauce.
