is this too much food?

Post by College Boy » Sat Jan 10, 2009 10:16 pm

I kept track of what I ate today. I had two cups of coffee, six oz of orange juice, a slice of pizza with pepperoni and sausage, and a one pound porterhouse steak (maybe 6 oz of that was bone and fat which I didn't eat). Is this going to make me fat? How many calories is it anyway?

The slice of pizza if average size would be approximately 400 calories.

6 oz. of orange juice is approximately 90 calories

How was the steak cooked?

Your two cups of coffee were probably 50 - 60 calories.

I would eat more, but it is too cold to go out and buy food. I am sick of winter.

I put some of Emeril's steak rub on it about an hour and a half before cooking, and then grilled it. It wouldn't talk, though.

Your steak was probably around 7 or 800 calories total, if you're correct on the size!

I don't know how tall you are or how much you weight but for a man I don't think you had enough calories today.

I guess that I can make up the missing calories with a couple Sam Adams. They are 150 calories each.

Depends on your age & size, whether your lifestyle is sedentary or active, how much you want to weigh, and genetics. A very general rule of thumb for someone weight concious is never eat less than the 'Body Weight You Want' X 10. So if you want to weigh say, 150 pounds, you shouldn't eat less than 1500 calories (average lifestyle). Just make sure you burn off anything above that.

Eat less than that, and your body may rebel and store fat on you.

How many calories in a medium opossum? I can't find that in any chart.

This may be an opportunity for a Federal research grant.
