is this too much food?
I kept track of what I ate today. I had two cups of coffee, six oz of orange juice, a slice of pizza with pepperoni and sausage, and a one pound porterhouse steak (maybe 6 oz of that was bone and fat which I didn't eat). Is this going to make me fat? How many calories is it anyway?

The slice of pizza if average size would be approximately 400 calories.
6 oz. of orange juice is approximately 90 calories
How was the steak cooked?

Your two cups of coffee were probably 50 - 60 calories.

I would eat more, but it is too cold to go out and buy food. I am sick of winter.

I put some of Emeril's steak rub on it about an hour and a half before cooking, and then grilled it. It wouldn't talk, though.Pixie wrote:Oh, Mike, I'm sorry! I wasn't clear. Re: is this too much food?
Your steak was probably around 7 or 800 calories total, if you're correct on the size!
I don't know how tall you are or how much you weight but for a man I don't think you had enough calories today.

I guess that I can make up the missing calories with a couple Sam Adams. They are 150 calories each.

Re: is this too much food?
Depends on your age & size, whether your lifestyle is sedentary or active, how much you want to weigh, and genetics. A very general rule of thumb for someone weight concious is never eat less than the 'Body Weight You Want' X 10. So if you want to weigh say, 150 pounds, you shouldn't eat less than 1500 calories (average lifestyle). Just make sure you burn off anything above that.college boy wrote:I kept track of what I ate today. Eat less than that, and your body may rebel and store fat on you.
