cedar planks
I bought a set of cedar planks at Price Chopper today. I am not sure how to use them. I am thinking that I should soak the planks in water for an hour, preheat the oven to 325, put the salmon on the planks, and put the planks in the oven. Does anyone know if that will work?

I have never done this but my BBQ book says to soak them overnight, weighing them down to keep them submerged. If you are putting them in the oven as opposed to BBQ'ing, perhaps an hour or two would suffice for soaking.college boy wrote:I bought a set of cedar planks at Price Chopper today. The package that it comes in says to soak them for at least an hour, set the barbecue grill to 325 (since when do barbecue grills have temperature settings?) and put them on top of the barbecue.
