Re: Red Beans and Rice

Ham Bone, Ducque , ham bone....and Andouille Sausage, and Pickle Pork. Well...it might have been a ham bone...you know how it is with the stuff in the back of the freezer. Y'know, you can chop up and throw in one of those boneless, skinless, tasteless chicken breasts instead of the ham, too. Only i...

Next time, keep some and put it on those pesky outdoor slugs. If it kills them, it's too salty.

Re: Topic revisitted...Boneless, Skinless, Tasteless Chicken Bre

All I've seen of Tony Chachere's here is Seasoning Salt; but, what I LOVE about Louisiana cooking is that one can use "whatever you got!" and it still makes an unforgettable meal. *On another matter, my sister Jan's birthday is tomorrow, and she hinted that she wanted another Haunted House for her g...

Re: SEAFOOD GUMBO

Where can I obtain Andouille sausage? I'd like to try it, just once. I've also used cubed ham, cubed steak (1" pieces), and sliced summer sausage (beef, the 12" long ones) in my jambalaya. WATCH the garam marsala and curry powder; too much, and you'll need to call the fire department. :hotguy: When ...

Re: SEAFOOD GUMBO

I made Zatarain's Jambalaya (one Family Size and one Regular together), but pan-fried the Trinity first, then added chicken strips, Genoa salami slices and Johnsonville Hot Brats to it while simmering; a little more garlic powder, a pinch of curry, another of garam marsala and Louisiana Hot Sauce on...

There's an occasional 15-minute segment on EWTN (Catholic TV) called "Grace Before Meals", featuring a Filipino priest who presents and cooks easy, but bountiful meals designed to "get the family wanting to come home" for dinner; three days ago, he offered a recipe very much like this one, but with ...

Begin by wearing an NBC (Nuclear-Biological-Chemical) contamination suit; put up hazmat warning signs at all entrances and exits, and block halls into kitchen with yellow "police" tape...

This is also good for cleaning out a teen's bedroom. Especially his/her socks.
