Re: cedar planks
I bought a set of cedar planks at Price Chopper today. I am not sure how to use them. I am thinking that I should soak the planks in water for an hour, preheat the oven to 325, put the salmon on the planks, and put the planks in the oven. Does anyone know if that will work? I have never done this b...

Grandma can't make it to go to dinner, so I am cooking portabella-swiss hamburgers for dinner. Sounds good! It's really easy. I just go to the butcher at Price Chopper and ask for two portabella swiss burgers. Then I take them home and cook them on the Griddler GR-4 for 10 minutes on one side and s...

The crock pot was not one of the many items that were stolen from me, although someone did use it without my permiss...

:lolh: I never looked at it that way. It does take time, but once you have the ingredients (like five of them) your pretty well set. I used to make mayo too - I can't imagine why I did that  one of my pioneer woman phases. I bet that the pioneers didn't even use mayo given what happens if it i...
Back in my Silicon Valley days (known to you as the Nineties) I didn't cook at all. I didn't do much takeout, either. I always ate out. At LSI there was a cafeteria, so that helped. At Ikos we organized to review the local restaurants for lunches. I learned where I could get a three-course Chinese ...

Now that I have a (hopefully) functional oven, I bought a one of those thing in the refrigerator section where you peel the carboard off, put the precut dough on a cookie sheet and bake it. I also bought a cookie sheet. I don't know when I will actually use it, but I am excited about my impending f...
