Easy Mushroom Rice

I am always looking for easy and good side dishes - especially during grilling season. I made this last week and really liked it. Ingredients: 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed French onion soup 1 (10.5 ounce) can beef broth 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained 1/4 cup...

Re: A tasty snack

Baking soda produces carbon dioxide gas which makes it "bubble" and spread easier I am guessing. Remember, you add baking soda to peanut brittle also.

Dutch people eat Crimp bread which is just a round, compact bread. When I was small, we spread it with Cheez Whiz and crushed potato chips. My DIL thought that sounded horrible until she tried it. Now, my son has to buy her Crimp bread when he comes home. :hmm: I can't envision that. What's "...

The potatoes, onions and corn are not for flavoring and can be left out of your pot is small. They are merely side dishes. I just can't imagine I would buy corn outside of the Iowa border. ;) Hey! Re: Live Crab

I have eaten crab in Iowa and at places near the ocean. The ones in Iowa are hard to crack and get the meat out (they are "soggy") I assumed it was because they were not as fresh? I didn't have a problem cracking them in restaurants near the ocean. Am I right in that, fresh crabs are easier to crack?

I made cabbage soup back in the 80's or something. I was for that fad cabbage soup diet that was going around back then. It made you feel full because you were full (of gas).
