Re: TURKEY

:noparty: My kids think my turkey is dry. So I brined it last year and they didn't like it because it was non-traditional. So, I guess I will go back to making dry turkey. :dunno: I Googled "how to roast a turkey" and I there are about as many pages out there with suggestions as there are people in...

Re: Topic revisitted...Boneless, Skinless, Tasteless Chicken Bre

I made the BEST boneless fried chicken breast today for my hay farmer friend. It came out absolutely perfect. I pounded the breasts to around 3/4 inch and rolled them in seasoned flour then an egg wash and then corn flake crumbs before I fried them. They had a great crunch on the outside and were mo...

Re: Homemade Meats?

:hmm: Homemade meats ? Now that's a new one for me! I went to the local Italian deli yesterday to buy bread ( ) and when I asked for 1/2 pound of Genoa Salami to take home for sandwiches, the guy said he didn't carry it, but he had a homemade meat that might suffice. It was molto costoso, b...

:hmm: I'm still looking for a good recipe. I (sad to say) like the instant potatoes, too, but today, I'm trying to prepare some from scratch. I like garlic, but my kids don't, so if a recipe is too heavy on the garlic as it's source of flavor, it's not the right one for us. Any other suggesti...

Re: Gas Or Electric

STAINLESS: 3 to 5 Multi-Ply (with aluminum or Copper Core), and 18/10 Stainless is always very much worth it, especially from a brand Manufacturer e.g. All Clad, Calphalon etc. You can use metal utensils on stainless but I'd do this only when absolutely necessary, it will scratch over time. Calphal...

Pound cake is good for this too. Basically, if you put strawberries and whipped cream on anything - it would be good. I also think that most people don't like the sponge cake type because they haven't had good sponge cake. If you have the time, try a real French Genoise. (Pronounced gen-wah,) It's ...
