Re: Rattlesnake Au Gratin

I live around the corner from Rawhide (relatively speaking). If I want rattlesnake I can just swing by and pick some up.

Re: Nice little cooker

The new electric ones have several safeties on them that makes them, well, safe. A pressure sensor and temperature sensor, if either goes off so does the cooker. Finally, an old mechanical standby, a gasket on the inside that will blow out and release the pressure in the event the sensors don't catc...

Re: Nice little cooker

So, are the extra 'instacooker' features worth the price? My mom used a pressure cooker long ago and I thought of buying one. I might end up on some NSA terrorist watch list if I buy a pressure cooker, like I'm not already. ;-) I can cook a potroast in about an hour instead of 4 or 5 like the crock...

Ritz Mock Apple Pie

http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/ritz-mock-apple-pie-53709.aspx I was finally brave enough to make this the other day. I was really surprised, it turned out very well. Most of the people couldn't tell it wasn't apple pie. It was really easy to make too. I made another one a couple of days ago b...

For this recipe you don't cook the eggs. That why I buy them the day I make the eggnog and I wash them in hot soapy water before I start. If any of them are cracked, don't use them (at least not for eggnog).

Eggnog

This is the recipe I use every year. It's a bit heavy on the alcohol, and I never like bourbon anyway. So if you substitute about half as much rum for bourbon it tastes great. I also wash the eggs in hot soapy water. No one wants a nice case of salmonella for Christmas. HOPKINS NEOLITHIC EGG NOG Tra...

How do I set the time zone?

You can find out what your time zone in GMT is (in Windows) by double clicking on the clock in the bottom corner of your screen. Then click on the time zone tab. It will list the time zone you are in and the offset from GMT. Then go into your profile and change the time zone setting to match.
