Re: "Oven Ready" Lasagna Noodles?

I agree with CY1. Throw out the oven ready. I can't imagine. Yuk. People are so lazy today and so taste dead from eating fast food they no longer know good food. Just because the shelves are lined with that stuff does not make it good! I say good for you for going back to the store to get the right ...

Re: TENDERLOIN IN RED WINE SAUCE W/3 VEGETABLE PUREES

Ramps Don’t know how many of you have cooked with Ramps; myself, I adore them. They add a dimension to a dish I normally have to get with a combination of Leeks – Garlic & Other Greens. Those dishes look absolutely fabulous! You say you aren't a professional chef, but I bet money that most of them ...

Re: TENDERLOIN IN RED WINE SAUCE W/3 VEGETABLE PUREES

I love the tenderloin recipe and the mushrooms would not be optional for me as I love mushrooms.

Now, this is strictly a personal taste but I am not big on pureed vegetables. But the recipes look fabulous for those who enjoy pureed vegetables.

I do love carrots!!!!!!!

Re: Buffalo Wings

I've never had alligator.

I've had eel, octopus, squid, turtle, rabbit, venison and I think that is all of what you might call out-of-the-norm foods? I have had sushi once or twice but I don't remember what kind and I was not overly impressed so it's not something I go looking for.

:lolh: I come close to hating odumbo and his even more evil/white hating wife... but, no I don't hate anyone.

It's not that I care who won the Super Bowl but I do know that Falvegas has been a Pats fan his whole life, so I am happy they won.

I take it you didn't want them to win. :embarrassed:

Re: RAMPS

I have not cooked with ramps yet although I do know that they have become the "spring darling" of the chef world. I love leeks, I love onions, I love shallots, I can't imagine that I wouldn't love ramps. I will say that photo of the buttermilk ramp biscuits sold me as I love to make buttermilk chive...

Well thank you for reading the article. The article and the book are meant to be humorous. The book takes you on a journey through the history of cooking and cookbooks. It is not a cookbook it is a book on the history of cooking and recipe writing. I enjoyed it very much and I enjoyed the article on...

Re: Recipe Readers! A Rare Breed!!! :) :) :) :) :)

I never found The Pioneer Woman's recipes to be very good. I like her a lot but I don't think I have ever made any of her recipes. I don't like Rachel Ray's recipes. Some of Ina Garten's recipes are good some are not. Giada deLaur.... whatever has a GREAT chicken stew recipe but that is the only on...

Re: Recipe Readers! A Rare Breed!!! :) :) :) :) :)

Not really, Pix, but there's a transition one goes through during the learning process, reading endless cookbooks until you master your personal skills [takes time]. Later on the more credible cookbooks in your library become a general 'Reference', because often favorite recipes have become committ...

Couple of Hours??? Well, that's what it takes me for Prep, then ~3 hours simmering. I am amazed you can prep that in a couple of hours it would take me all day, all day. But that is why I went to work to try and create a chili recipe I could pull together and serve in two hours. I have seen green c...
