Lemon rind. Oh no.

I found this great sounding recipe, but it calls for a tablespoon of "grated lemon rind". Do I actually have to grate up the rind of a lemon????? Ok, that's not going to happen in this house. Can't I substitute something?

My recipe is similar, but it doesn't have onions or chiles. Also, mine has a dash of lemon juice, plus worchestershire and tabasco. YUM!
