Re: Just made Nestle Toll House cookies

Another good variation of the toll house recipe is to substitute the chocolate chips with M&Ms. I make them every Christmas (using the red and green 'holiday' M&Ms.) They're sooooooo good.

Toll house cookies are still the best. :)

Does it matter what kind of apples you use?
I think just about any (except Red Delicious, for some reason they're not recommended) will do. I normally use Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Fuji or Pink Lady.

Thank you gals, for the nice comments. :givehug:

Tex-Mex rice

I'm a rice lover, but don't make it very often because it usually flops (no matter HOW well I follow the directions.) Something about the split-second timing, removing, fluffing, letting stand, etc. It's either undercooked, or overcooked and 'gummy.' This recipe however, turned out great! (texture, ...

Great food/recipe website..

Okay, I know this should be posted on the recipe forum, but since this forum is the most read, I want to share it here. :) These appear to be some of the most SCRUMPTIOUS recipes! What makes this even better, this woman "Pioneer Woman," includes step-by-step photos, and she's funny too. I'm preparin...

Abbi, this looks so yummy. I can't wait to try it. I love pasta dishes which have cheese and spinach! Interesting cooking tip here.. If you wish to avoid the extra work involved in boiling the pasta, you may stuff the dry shells and adjust the baking time to about 25 minutes more. My MIL gave me a r...

Sounds DELICIOUS! You know, I had a 'baked potato casserole' recipe a few years ago which included pretty much the same ingredients with different amounts. I was going to submit it to our family cookbook as 'heart attack mashed potatoes,' but didn't think the 50+ crowd would see the humor. I changed...

May I 'show off?'

I submitted the following recipe about 7 years ago. It's taken awhile to build reviews. Ironically, I sometimes forget that I'd submitted it. It's a very easy (and good!) recipe:

My dad once told me how to "de-gas" a pot of beans, but I forgot what he said. I probably figured at the time that it would take all the fun out of it. Anybody ever hear how to do that? There's 'Bean-o' that you can sprinkle one or two drops on 'gassy' foods before dining. I bought some to put on m...

My other favorite is the Peanut Butter Blossom cookies with the hershey kisses. Oh yes! Those are our daughter's favorite. Apple Dapple Cake

I prepare at least three of these cakes each Christmas. (One for the staff at my daughter's school, one to divide for baked goodies 'gift trays' and one to serve Christmas day.) My extended family's all time favorite: Apple Dapple Cake 3 eggs 2 C sugar 1 1/2 C oil 3 C flour (all purpose) 2 t vanilla...
